Biography

Jayne Kirtley is a Chartered Legal Executive Litigator and Advocate and works in the Family Department at Foys Retford office. As well as covering the Retford office Jayne also supports clients in surrounding areas including Doncaster, Worksop and Clowne.

Jayne joined Foys Solicitors in 2018 having worked previously in Doncaster for 13 years and Oxford for 7 years before that. Jayne covers a wide range of family law matters but has a keen interest in private l

Jayne qualified as a Legal Executive in 2002 before obtaining her Advocacy Rights in 2011 and then going on to become a Chartered Legal Executive Litigator in 2026. Jayne is also an accredited member of Resolution.

Jayne started her journey in law in a small high street practice as an Office Junior before progressing to the role of Secretary whilst attending college and studying part time to achieve her qualifications.

Approach

Jayne’s approach to her clients is to provide clear advice from the outset so as to manage realistic expectations. She abides by the Resolution Code of Conduct which means she aims to deal with matters in a constructive and amicable way and seeking to resolve matters by agreement with the Court being used as a matter of last resort.

Jayne has significant experience across a broad spectrum of Family law matters, including:-

  • Advice and representation to resolve arrangements for children following a relationship breakdown

  • Representation of parents and wider family members in court proceedings involving child protection and the removal of children from the care of their family
