Biography

Derith Hood is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a Licenced Conveyancer based at Foys Solicitors in Worksop. She joined Foys in 2014 and specialises in a wide range of both commercial and residential conveyancing work. Derith has worked for a large number of both commercial and residential clients and has handled large scale and high value portfolio purchases and refinances.

Derith started work in Conveyancing in 1978 and qualified as a Fellow in the 1980’s. She became a Licenced Conveyancer in 2023.

Derith has extensive experience in conveyancing having handled her own case load and trained trainees who have later become solicitors. She has worked in the business for over 40 year.

Derith, did, for a short period of time teach at Doncaster Further Education College teaching both ILEX and CLC courses.

Derith is well regarded by her clients as having extensive knowledge and experience and plays a key role in the conveyancing department at Foys Solicitors

Approach

Derith’s philosophy is to approach every transaction with care and understanding. She is very keen on client contact and ensuring that the client’s expectations are not only met but exceeded, but always bearing in mind that the client is completely informed of the timescales and the likely delays that inevitably occur.

Being well versed in both residential and commercial transactions she understands the complexities of both sets of clients from the first time buyers to the multi million pound property developers, and strives to extend her extensive experience to each and every transaction, with many high recommendations and repeat clients

Experience

Derith first began her career in the legal profession in 1978.


She started at Foys in 2014. Since working at Foys she has built up a
well established client base.

She deals with:-

  • Residential property sales and purchases

  • Commercial property sales and purchases

  • Land (both agricultural and private) sales and purchases

  • Residential, commercial and portfolio refinances and purchases

  • Business acquisitions and sales

  • Leasehold both residential and commercial from small shops to large manufacturing units
