Courtney Marriot | Trainee Solicitor

Biography

Courtney joined Foys in March 2023 and is based at the firm’s Worksop office. She works within the Dispute Resolution Department, assisting on a wide range of civil litigation matters.


She graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2021 with an LLB (Hons) in Law and began her legal career in property litigation, gaining practical experience in residential and commercial property disputes, debt recovery and possession matters.

Since joining Foys, Courtney has broadened her experience to include contentious trusts and probate, clinical negligence, personal injury and contractual disputes. In August 2025, she commenced her Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) training and is working towards qualification as a Solicitor.

Approach

Courtney believes that clear communication and transparency is the best way to navigate and resolve disputes. She understands that being involved in litigation can be stressful and aims to provide steady, practical support throughout each stage of a matter, ensuring the Client’s best interests at the forefront of everything she does.


Courtney is empathetic and appreciates that being faced with a dispute can be difficult, but she is confident she can help alleviate any ill-feeling surrounding this, putting the Client at ease. Managing expectations and explaining risks clearly are central to her approach.

Being committed to dealing with matters promptly and efficiently, Courtney uses her best endeavors to bring about a resolution which the Clients are content with. Clients value Courtney for her thorough preparation and calm manner.
